CITY NORTH BAPTIST CHURCH

[ visual identity for a people dedicated church ]

A church with a tangible dedication to people over image, but that doesn’t mean Kat and Michael couldn’t see the problems inconsistent visuals were causing: confusion for new comers, lack of recognition, and an uneasiness when people in their church shared things like social media links and website with others.

Before we touched anything visual, Kat, Michael, and I sat down and developed their experience as a brand, from social media to door greeting to formal membership.

The visuals we developed struck a balance between welcoming and traditional: important for a church deeply invested in its teaching. Without a designer on staff, I crafted their brand to be simple and repeatable (but not boring), and guided their understanding of when being on brand is incredibly important and when to allow some flexibility.

Garrafón applies a cinematic lens to science, conservation, and community projects. The brand needed to feel strong and recognizable while letting the media speak for itself.

In collaboration with Ben, we grounded his studio in three core values (expertise, intrigue, and activism) and built every brand asset with them in mind. The result is an identity and website that showcase the studio’s breathtaking work and unique expertise, while reflecting its deep care for communities, environments, and invite everyone who scrolls to think a bit deeper.

from michael & kat

“It isn’t just about the end product, which looks great, but it has also helped us understand who we are, what we have to offer and what message we want to communicate about ourselves going forward.

Even though we didn't necessarily uncover anything new about ourselves, it helped to bring clarity and confidence about what we have to offer and who we want to be.”
